This Photo Matters

On top, the 160,000 people who gathered for Trump’s inauguration. Below, 1.8 million for Obama. Trump says he has a movement. What he had in a November was a coalition — just enough people voting for him for a variety of reasons. The demographics worked out that people who have no interest in working together, looked at Trump and said he may be wrong on these 6 things, but he’s ok on my one top issue. Most republicans hated him. Now the republican leadership in the Senate and Congress fear Trump because he appears popular. He doesn’t have a movement, he has an office. I expect those in government to work with him with the same courtesy they show the others in government. If Trump has a good idea or a sound policy, support it. If he is wrong or lies to us, rebuke him. If he fails to divest himself from his financial entanglements or his friendship with Putin, impeach him. Don’t try to go with what you think most American’s want, because right now, we want something different.
